Bug Girl

This is the WIP of taking a 2D design and creating a 3D animated character from it. The character is from Inky Dinky Animation Studios. I don't know her name, but I thought she was cool. Can't wait to finish it.

IronE Logo

I created a 3D rendition of Robert "IronE" Singleton's logo. Perhaps he'll like it, perhaps not. I enjoyed creating it:

Dancing Alien

Dragonfly

I've noticed I'm doing a lot of superhero drawings as I'm trying this sketch-a-day thing out. I think that's because that was one of the first things I tried to draw. However, here's an original creation, Dragonfly:

A quick 3D CGI mockup of a friend's blog banner

Here's a quick 3D CGI mockup of a friend's blog banner I did tonight. I don't usually do environments, but I was fascinated by his concept.

Here's a link to his original banner: Pharaoh's Den:

and here is my reworking of the concept:

The Green Hornet's Black Beauty Redesign

Earlier this year, I saw a painting by Alex Ross of the Green Hornet's Black Beauty car that he redesigned. I thought it was so stunning, I decided to recreate it in 3D.

Above is the original painting, below is my rendering of the car, modeled using Silo and rendered in Autodesk Maya Mental Ray.

Baton from Tron: Legacy

Hover Tank

Lotion Bottle

Curved Ceramic Blade

Rocket Revolver

I decided to add some of my creative computer graphics art in addition to the sketch-a-day stuff. I used a program called Neverwinter Silo and Autodesk Maya to create CGI shots of my visualizations.

Today's sketch is my take on an old childhood pal, Gigantor (or as he's known in Japan, Tetsujin 28).

The Beginning

Something I've wanted to do for sometime. I'm going to try to do a sketch-a-day. Okay, okay, I know it's been done and done to death. Yeah, I know it's not an original idea, but this isn't for you. This is for me. I've been an artist in one form or another my entire life. My wife just passed away last month and I'm in the process of recreating myself. For my new beginnings I have to go back and explore my beginnings. My start, my "Stroke of Creation" was art and music. Thus, a sketch-a-day.

To begin with, well, I've already done three sketches over three days so I'll just post the first three in the order I've done them. The sketches are all done on a Wacom Intuos 4 Digital Drawing Tablet and I'm using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro as the program for drawing them.
